Η Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Παιδικού Βιβλίου, που γιορτάζεται κάθε χρόνο στις 2 Απριλίου, μας θυμίζει πόσο σημαντικό είναι το διάβασμα για τα παιδιά. Είναι μια μέρα που θέλουμε να εμπνεύσουμε τα παιδιά να αγαπήσουν τα βιβλία και να ανακαλύψουν τη μαγεία της ανάγνωσης.
Φέτος, ο εορτασμός αυτής της μέρας έγινε με 2 παρουσιάσεις του βιβλίου “Θέλω να γυρίσω σπίτι μου” για τα παιδιά της Δ’ και Ε’ τάξης του 139ου Δημοτικού Σχολείου Αθηνών. Κατά τη διάρκεια των παρουσιάσεων οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες είχαν την ευκαιρία να συζητήσουν για το θέμα του βιβλίου και να εκφράσουν τις δικές τους σκέψεις και συναισθήματα για την επιστροφή των Γλυπτών του Παρθενώνα. Επίσης, έπαιξαν με τα ψηφιακά παιχνίδια του βιβλίου στον διαδραστικό πίνακα.
Μέσα από αυτές τις δράσεις τα παιδιά έμαθαν γιατί τα βιβλία είναι σημαντικά και πως μπορούν να τα βοηθήσουν να κατανοήσουν καλύτερα τον εαυτό τους και τον κόσμο γύρω τους.

International Children’s Book Day, celebrated every year on April 2nd, reminds us how important reading is for children. It’s a day to inspire children to love books and to discover the magic of reading.
This year, we celebrated the day with two presentations of the book “I was born in Greece” for the 4th and 5th grade students of the 139th Primary School of Athens. During the presentations, the students had the opportunity to discuss the book’s theme and express their own thoughts and feelings about the return of the Parthenon Marbles. They also enjoyed playing the book’s digital games on the interactive whiteboard.
Through these activities, the children learned why books matter and how they can help them better understand themselves and the world around them.
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and the 4th and 5th grade students for their warm welcome and hospitality.
Today is a day I will never forget!
